These Small SEO Tools Will Raise Both Awareness & Ability

Google Extensions I Use to Maximize Effectiveness (Links in Google Chrome)
- Alexa Traffic Rank- This Chrome Extension is a small SEO tool that will allow you to monitor both your site's traffic rank, as well as your competition. Ensure you are constantly adding content to your site to ensure users are encouraged to come back often. Social media postings will help drive traffic as well. Twitter, Google+, and LinkedIn are major sources of viable traffic. Love Facebook? Great...They suck and produce no real value to inbound marketing other than traffic rank! Don't give them your money to advertise for ANY reason!
- MozBar from Moz- This small SEO tool is wonderful in regards to tracking your page authority and links. I would recommend the full subscription, however you can keep an eye on both your Moz score and your competitions with this extension. I would recommend you look at who is linking to your website, as Google will either be gracious with your boost, or hurt you bad with poorly ranked sites linking in. Have $5 you want to give to someone on Fiverr.com to help boost your links?....Nooooooo! You are looking for Tier 1 links from credible sources = Page rank 5 or above to your site. Imagine copying off of someone that gets poor grades in school on a test and expecting an A for your lack of effort.
- META SEO Inspector- This is a must. This extension and small SEO tool will help you see where your errors are on your pages. You need to ensure you have your H tags, keywords, description, open graph imagery, title, and especially your alt attributes. Anyone telling you differently is an ignoramus. If that person happens to be a family member, punch them in the nose, as they are hurting you more than helping.
- Check My Links- Invaluable small SEO tool that is a must. This will check your links on each of your pages to ensure you don't have bad links. Here's a secret...You want between 80-99 links per page and NEVER more than 100. A website is like a book, and you should have great navigation with a 3 click, click through on every aspect of your content. We understand that you sometimes need 4, but NEVER have more than 4 clicks to get anywhere on your site. Most importantly, ensure you don't have any dead ends. Dead ends on websites = higher bounce rate. Lastly, don't allow people to contact you from your front page, or your click through rate will plummet and your bounce rate will skyrocket.
Other Notable Items
One of the biggest areas where people seem to be hurting themselves these days is in having a secure URL. You can reach out to our friends over at Godaddy.com to secure your site. If you are using an http:// versus an https://, then this means you. You are hurting yourself in traffic rank, seo, etc. by not having a secure site. Is this free?...No! Pay the money to stay competitive and ensure your visitors are comfortable and feel safe. This isn't a small SEO tool, rather a very big one!
Another great small SEO tool for doing research for keywords for Google Adwords is semrush.com. They will allow you to research up to 10 sites daily (For FREE) to determine which keywords your competitors are using and where the majority of their traffic is coming from. I highly recommend them.
Conclusion
There are many great Google Chrome Extensions and small SEO tools on the Extensions store. These happen to be my 4 most used when researching my competition or researching the competition for our clients. Knowing what people are using as tools to compete against you is the first step of what it takes to beat them down like a red headed step child. Your competition only exists because you let them, and most importantly "Healthy Competition" is a term used by those that have zero ability to compete and create rules to allow themselves to be competitive.
Have any other great small SEO tools we may have missed that you are using every day? We'd love to hear about them and how they help you.
