Listed with explanations are the top 6 SEO areas to pay attention to for site ranking on Google
While the links below are from 2013 and 2014, the algorithms remain very similar, and should be taken into account when working on your SEO for your website. These 6 areas produce the highest return on investment.
- Page Authority
- Number of Google +1's
- Unique cblocks linking to your page
- Number of unique IP's linking to your page
- Number of root domains linking to your page
- Number of root domains linking to your page with partial match anchor text
While social metrics plays a key in ranking, it is still very clear that page authority is king in the ranking of your site. Through domain linking, a site has a greater opportunity to achieve page authority, thus making linking the greatest area of opportunity to grow your site. Companies like prweb.com can provide a temporary boost, however blogging will remain an important role when building your traffic rank and page authority long term.
Where Companies Fail
Companies generally place little emphasis on creating a place within their market vertical as an authority on their products and/or services. Big box corporations receive their traffic from large financial outbound marketing campaigns, which tends to negate their need for social media, whereas the small and medium companies must make up their lack of outbound marketing budget through consumer education.
Defining the top 6 areas
Page Authority
Page Authority is Moz's calculated metric for how well a given webpage is likely to rank in Google.com's search results. It is based off data from the Mozscape web index and includes link counts, MozRank, MozTrust, and dozens of other factors. It uses a machine learning model to predictively find an algorithm that best correlates with rankings across the thousands of search results that they predict against. Important for SEO?...You betcha!
Number of Google +1's
Google +1's come from your companies Google+ site. The +1's allow consumers to follow your company, similar to receiving a like from Facebook. While Google has vehemently stated Google +1's have no bearing on SEO, companies are benefiting greatly from their efforts to gain following. Moz ranks this area with a .30, suggesting a heavy importance in this area of SEO.

Unique cblocks Linking to Your Page
cblocks are the IP address in number format, ie our IP address for Kpahi.com is 50.62.194.119. If we received a domain link from 50.62.194.120, Google would identify the link coming from the same cblock and discount the link in regards to gaining page authority. Ensuring you are gaining links from outside sources is a key to SEO, and is reflected greatly from the boost your site will receive from Google for your efforts.
Number of Unique IP's linking to page
This is where firms like PRweb.com can be a great help. Getting other companies to view your content as valuable and point their clients in your direction as an authority on any matter can be a huge boost to your traffic ranking. Beware the companies that offer a zillion tier 2 links to your site for $5 on Fiverr.com, as you will most likely find your site getting penalized for trying to take a shortcut to beat your competition.
Number of Root Domains linking to page
This is almost exactly how it sounds. You are looking for Tier 1 links from the main domain, not sub-domains. This goes back to the Panda/Penguin nerf that you hear companies moan and groan about from Google. Companies would buy 75 different domain names and link them all to your site, or pay companies to link to their site, which gave them an unbelievable advantage over their competitors. Google put a stop to this practice with Panda/Penguin updates, making the practice a waste of time and money. While companies still fall for the companies that still tout their ability to cheat the system, you will generally have spent a lot of money to only get penalized by Google in the end.
Partial Match Anchor Text
This is where the meat and potatoes are with root domains. To ensure copying didn't happen, Panda introduced penalizing exact anchor text matches. This relates directly to the paragraph above, so please be on the lookout for ensuring your links are partial matches to ensure you aren't getting nerfed by accident. Exact content matches are just bad JUJU! While someone can benefit greatly from adding portions of content from other sources, plagiarism wasn't welcome in school, nor is it welcome online. People work very hard on their content, and ripping off their content to use as your own will surely be caught and heavily scolded by Google.
